Definitely a hidden jewel in the SGV. The best lobster I've ever had! You know you go to Boston Lobster to try their lobster right? It's only natural since it's in their name. Their other foods are also great as well. They also have lunch specials so it's a good opportunity to try different dishes.
Came here to Boston Lobster for a family member birthday. What better way to celebrate than with a lobster feast.
This restaurant is tucked away behind Popeye's plaza across from the San Gabriel superstore. Parking, well you can just forget that. You'll never be able to find one unless you're really really lucky. So the real downside is just parking. Not really their control since the parking lot is shared by other businesses.
Currently the front of the restaurant is undergoing construction; possibly a face lift? So you won't really see a huge sign for the restaurant.
Upon entering it looks like your typical mom and pop small restaurant, nothing that screams fancy or extravagant at all.
Service was actually good and decent; surprisingly. Food also came out pretty quickly one after another and plated pretty well. Servers came by to change our plates like twice to ensure we had clean plates to continue eating.
Dishes ordered:
House Special Lobster-the main event! Lobster was so flavorful and made to perfection. You can literally scoop the meat out with your chopstick or fork. It's that easy and so delicious. For the first time the lobster was basically almost all eaten up.
Basil Clam-wow lots of clams and not the price you'll get elsewhere. Rarely any empty clam shells. Each shell had meat! So worth!
Kung Pao Chicken- very flavorful and tender chicken meat
Honey Walnut Shrimp-the walnuts are actually soft with the texture like caramel. So use to the crunchy walnuts, but this is a change from the original recipe
Fish Filet with Basil- lots of fish meat and not much filler
Complimentary Hot & Sour Soup -it was more on the spicy side, but still good if you need to clear your sinuses
Highly recommend coming to Boston Lobster for their lobster and other dishes. They really know how to cook and serve a dish very well!
Happy lobster eating! -

Well, I don't really understand the hype. This place was packed before we arrived and even more packed after. The line outside was probably 20 people waiting in 90 degree heat. I heard the owner/chef is the same person from Newport Seafood, but who knows.
I typically don't care how a restaurant looks if the food is tip top, but it wasn't. At least to me it was just average. We got the 4lb lobster with the house special sauce. It was decent. The pile of lobster is deceiving because it's propped up under a pile of noodles. Truth be told I've never been a fan of eating lobster chopped up with the shell on. I feel like it's too difficult to get the meat out. I'm a lobster tail and claw type of guy. As for the house sauce. It was okay. I couldn't taste the lobster meat because of it.
The shaken beef was also okay. The meat was cooked medium rare and soft. So that's positive. I just didn't think the marinade gave it justice. It had that Chinese 5 spice taste to it.
So back to the restaurants appearance. It looks like it's straight from the 80's and never updated: black, white, wood and mirrors. I was looking for an old crt tv, but apparently they removed it. We sat next to the small aquarium which was blowing hot air like a blow dryer. Did I mention it was 90 outside? Nothing like drinking a $300 bottle of Opus One (they have it) and pretending like you're in the 80's. -

You probably already know or else you wouldn't have looked them up but it's Chinese food that's not the American fast food style. Legit stuff from a legit head chef that it the most popular restaurant in you're to open his own shop.
Not as crowded as Newport Seafood, but smaller, more casual, and a tad bit cheaper. They have a solid lunch special menu a la old skool Taco Bell menu with three pricing columns of ~$7.75/$8.25/$8.75. It's a la carte so don't forget to order some white rice if you didn't get a noodle or fried rice dish. Oh yeah, house lobster. -

If I had to describe Boston Lobster I would have to say "Greatest Of All Time"!
The establishment is located in the west corner in the Popeyes Plaza, parking is small so fingers cross that you get a parking spot. The exterior at the time is under construction but it's not closed. When you walk in, you don't get a high end restaurant feel, but that doesn't matter because the food and service is basically five stars.
I came here on a weekend for lunch so the lunch specials were available. The lunch specials are great value, ranging from 8-9 dollars a dish. I ordered the Basil Clams, House Lobster, Basil Fish, Kung Pao Chicken, and Honey Walnut Shrimp (Dinner Item).
For lunch, rice and soup is complementary. The soup I got was hot and sour soup, it was really good but a tad on the spicy side, more white pepper spicy. The food was great, the clams had lots of meat and it was a very good portion. This was probably one of the best dishes here! It was amazing, the meat as the size of the shells and it didn't have a sandy taste to them. The lobster was top notch, the way they seasoned it and cooked it was amazing. The meat came out of the claw really cleanly. The kung pao Chicken wasn't spicy but it didn't have fillers, pretty much a plate of chicken. Honey walnut shrimp was good but the walnuts weren't super crunchy but the shrimp were. Lastly the basil fish was good as well, it was different than what I would usually eat.
Service here is great, they come check up on you often, they give you napkins without you asking for it, they also came and changed our plates often because of the shells from the lobster and the clams, and it ended with complementary oranges. This place goes with the phrase "You can have your cake AND eat it too". Solid 5/5, you won't be disappointed! -

Did someone say lobster noodle?!!! This is the place to go for your house lobster noodle fix. They have up to an 8 pound lobster. We got a 7 pounder and I was spectacular. We also got a seafood soup, Peking pork chop, ong choy, pea sprouts, and kung pao chicken. The line was about an hour long if you sign up at the door so I suggest you get on the wait list via yelp. Parking is tough here but we found street parking. We came, we saw, we conquered 7 pounds of lobster and now we have food coma. Happy Yelping! We will be back!
